I belong to a great community of authors whose talents and passions run the gamut. One of my biggest joys in being involved in the online author community is not only being exposed to fantastic new novels but also getting to know the authors behind them.

Paulette Mahurin is one such woman. Paulette writes both literary and historical fiction ranging from the pre-Civil War American South to the concentration camps of Second World War Europe.

Paulette’s novels are devastatingly complex and realistic and have left readers in the thousands in awe of her inherent grasp of the human condition.

In the novels To Live Out Loud, The Persecution of Mildred Dunlap, The Day I Saw the Hummingbird, The Seven Year Dress, Irma’s Endgame and A Different King of Angel, Paulette tackles homophobia, racism, and anti-semitism.

But beyond the simple fact of Paulette’s incredible writing and her status as one of the top 100 Amazon Bestsellers in Historical Fiction, YA Fiction, and Literary Fiction, is what Paulette has given her profits to.

Since 2015 Paulette has donated all of her profits to rescue dogs from kill shelters. To date she’s rescued well over 2,200 dogs.
